Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre in West Sussex is one of a number of partner museums across the UK that form the ‘Connected Earth’ network in which Openreach plays an active role. The museum offers a unique insight to the story of telecommunications past, present and future. Each year they hold a communications day. And on Saturday 14 October, Openreach engineers Adam and John attended site with their vehicles to demonstrate current engineering tasks and talk to visitors about Openreach.
David Langdon, Head of Group at the museum said: “Many thanks to Adam and John from Openreach for all their help and enthusiasm with our communications event. We’ve had great feedback from those who attended and it was good to see so much interest in their demonstrations... they certainly promoted Openreach to the public.”
This is the second year that Adam and John have supported the event. Their demonstrations attract visitors young and old, including some retired engineers who love to see how technology is evolving.
Adam and John hope to maintain the relationship with Amberley to make sure that their exhibition stands are kept up to date with current work methods and products. If you’d like an Openreach engineer to visit your event contact Ian Hill and we'll do our best to line up a volunteer in your area.
