Ultrafast broadband

The future is ultrafast

Leagues quicker than superfast, we’re now rolling out ultrafast broadband. New fibre technologies mean that in certain areas we can already offer speeds of 100Mbps or more – even as fast as 1Gbps. So that means you can download a film while also uploading pictures or videos to social media, or working from home. All with no drop in quality.

More than 27.1 million homes and businesses in the UK can already access our fibre network. And because we know that technology never stands still, we’re investing even more into our fibre network. We’re leading the way on ultrafast speeds.

A faster future

G.fast

G.fast is new technology that means we can give customers ultrafast speeds over existing copper lines – up to 330Mbps. And because we can add it to our existing network, we can get it up and running quickly in certain areas - which means faster internet with less disruption. Find out more about where we’re piloting G.fast

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

FTTP is different from G.fast. It’s a pure fibre connection - all the way from the telephone exchange right into your home or business. It can deliver speeds of up to 1Gbps. Find out more about FTTP.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) on Demand

FTTP on Demand offers speeds of up to 1Gbps for customers served by Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC). It’s a good opportunity for customers in FTTC only areas to experience the speeds achieved by FTTP. Find out more about FTTP on Demand
