You’ll see our 32,800 people (and our fleet of more than 24,700 vans) in every community. They’re creating and managing the vast network of fibres, wires and cables that make your TV, phone and internet services work. To do that they carry out more than 9.5 million engineering jobs each year and deal with 37,000 customers every working day. Service is always our top priority – because we know that people are counting on us to keep our network running, and expanding.
We invest in people
We’re supporting the next generation of engineers by recruiting over 2,500 field engineers in the first three quarters of 2018/19. We’ll take them through an NVQ qualification for IT, software and telecoms professionals. At the same time we spend around £20 million every year to make sure the rest of our workforce have the right skills, focusing on making sure our engineers can tackle lots of tasks in a single visit to a customer.
